If you take the creaminess out of this candle, it smells similar to Diptyque’s L’eau Papier. I assume this is BBW’s attempt to make niche into mass market. That scent is meant to evoke the scents of books. The Diptyque description is “L’Eau Papier eau de toilette celebrates a creative encounter, a moment of suspension in which hand, ink and the blank sheet are as one. A gentle, hazy cocoon - and an invitation to create.” I’m going to wear mine to the store later and compare them directly.
Interesting. I tried L'ueau Papier when i was searching for a minimalist fragrance but it just didn't work for me (and as a librarian I was hoping it would!)
I love Book Loft, but agree with the reviewer about it's strength. But, I will be buying more of the candle because in a small room or next to me on my office desk while I work, it's worth it.

as an employee, you explained this really well. i've been curious about the fragrance notes in this because i'm very on the fence about it. it has a nice first-smell to it, but i don't love the after-smell. at first, it has a really nice gentle floral with some very gentle musty-like and maybe a little eucalyptus; for me, the after-smell is very floral, almost like peony and lilac. hearing about how it burns has changed my mind, i had high hopes for this!
I smelled this one in the store and got almost nothing from it on cold. It was a very, very light scent that I can't even really describe. Some people seem to really like this one, so maybe some batches are better than others, but I couldn't even get enough fragrance from cold sniff to decide if I even liked the smell or not.
I literally have been going through it since the new year so really haven’t purchased anything since SAS. This is on my list though and darn it’s weak! Grrrr!! I wish it would be strong! BBW NEEDS TO BRING BACK Paris Cafe Bouquet I feel like you can imagine yourself reading a book in a cafe with that fragrance burning in the background. I only have a few left and pulled one to burn in the next month or so. But I would def Pick up more!! Love PCB!!
coming back after 10 days to give y'all the fragrance notes! its neroli, bergamot, and cozy woods. it kind of reminds me of sea salt & neroli from last year, but not as sweet. i love the neroli and bergamot in this candle, but the woods kind of brings too much floral for me. i don't love the candle, but the WALLFLOWER, my lord how i love the wallflower of this fragrance; it has the perfect mix of warm neroli, i love it.

I agree with you about the fragrance notes you described...a floral with a cozy musk. I plan to exchange it this weekend. Bummer.
@@TheCandleChannel I am having a similar relationship with Almond Croissant. Love the fragrance, but it's very low in throw. Based on your experience, do you think it will improve, or should I exchange it, too?

I was coming to comment this. I have Leau Papier and it’s the reason I purchased this candle. I love that smell. The candle is sooo disappointing.

The smell on cold smelled like a hug from my late grandfather. I hope it is good burning 🙃

Yes, it's terrible. I saw somewhere that it gets stronger as you go, so I burned it even more and it's still totally unscented.

I smelled it and thought on cold it smelled like when u open an old book and take a big whiff lol didn’t get any kind of floral just musty dusty
